Coping Skills Series for ES Kids

How can learning to journal effectively help my child?

Effective journaling can help your child express her feelings more clearly, can help identify emotions/feelings that may be difficult to understand and communicate, can help address negative thinking patterns, can help to improve their mood to decrease symptoms of sadness/depression and reduce feelings of anxiety and stress.

During this 4 week program, your child will learn how to choose a journaling method that works best for her, understand when to use the journal and learn effective journaling techniques.

Your child will also learn how to listen to their body to understand their emotional triggers, will learn to normalize negative feelings but not get stuck in negative thinking traps, will learn how to express feelings using “I feel” statements and begin to learn effective strategies to communicate feelings.

Your child will participate in group discussions, role-play scenarios, discuss common self-esteem concerns, learn and practice 3 problem-solving techniques and learn how to create journal entries.
